British American Tobacco Bangladesh PLC. (BAT Bangladesh PLC.) has appointed Farah Noor as Company Secretary & Head of Compliance, making her the first woman Company Secretary in the Company’s history. The appointment is effective 23 July 2026.
Ms. Noor brings more than 25 years of legal and corporate experience, including over 20 years with BAT Bangladesh and over four years served as an Associate lawyer in one of the leading law firms of Bangladesh. Since joining the Company in 2005, she has held several senior legal and business partnering roles, most recently serving as Litigation & Corporate Counsel. Her broad cross-functional experience has given her a deep understanding of the Company’s business, governance framework, and regulatory landscape.
Before joining BAT Bangladesh, Ms. Noor also served as a Legal Adviser to the Bangladesh Bar Council Human Rights Training Programme.
Ms. Noor holds LL.B. (Honours) and LL.M. degrees from the University of Dhaka. She has also completed international professional development programmes, including specialised trainings in Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore and Hong Kong.
In her new role as Company Secretary & Head of Compliance, Farah will lead BAT Bangladesh’s corporate governance and compliance agenda, support the Board of Directors in fulfilling its governance responsibilities, and continue strengthening the Company’s governance framework in line with global best practices and evolving regulatory expectations.
