A humanitarian campaign titled “Revive Squad” has brought together Bangladesh’s PUBG MOBILE streaming community to provide emergency medical assistance and raise relief funds for flood-affected people in Chattogram, in collaboration with social welfare organization Footsteps Bangladesh.

Recent heavy rainfall and flash floods inundated several areas of Chattogram, leaving hundreds of families in urgent need of food, safe drinking water and emergency healthcare services. In response to the humanitarian crisis, PUBG MOBILE streamers and gaming content creators from across Bangladesh came together to support those affected.

As part of the initiative, some of the country’s most popular PUBG MOBILE streamers and gaming content creators — Sinister, Rowdy, DeathStorm, TimeBurner Gaming, Tuktuki, Nayeem, Rafsan The Chotobhai, and Apollo Gaming hosted a special fundraising livestream.

Through their online platforms, the streamers called on their viewers and followers to come forward in support of flood-affected families. All proceeds generated through the livestream were donated directly to the flood relief fund.

With the funds raised through the initiative, Footsteps Bangladesh organised two medical camps on July 24 and 25 in Balaghata and Rowangchhari, Bandarban. More than 500 flood-affected people received free medical consultations, essential medicines, oral rehydration saline (ORS), and first-aid kits through the camps.

According to the organisers, the initiative was designed to demonstrate that the streaming community can extend beyond entertainment and play a responsible role during times of humanitarian crisis.

They said the success of the campaign was made possible through the enthusiastic participation of streamers, viewers and the wider online community from across Bangladesh.

Representatives of Footsteps Bangladesh said that delivering healthcare services to remote and flood-affected areas was one of the biggest challenges of the campaign. With transportation links severely disrupted, many local residents had been deprived of access to basic healthcare services. Through the coordinated efforts of volunteers and medical professionals, essential healthcare services were eventually delivered to communities in need.

According to the organisers, the “Revive Squad” initiative demonstrated how a streaming community built in the virtual world can rapidly mobilise to create a meaningful impact during humanitarian crises in the real world.

They expressed hope that the initiative would encourage greater participation from young people, streamers and online communities in future social and humanitarian activities.
